AT&T - Action Required - St. Louis, MO Column Size Change

AT&T - More Exciting News!!!  St. Louis, MO (041714) & St. Louis Mini, MO (104516) is changing from 5 to 4 Columns

AT&T Advertising & Publishing is pleased to announce another directory, St. Louis & St. Louis Mini, MO, is changing from 5 to 4 columns.   This is just another example of how we are going to great lengths to maintain a competitive directory our market place!!!

Directory Information

St. LouisMO (041714)

Pubco:  0962

Close:  8/30/07

Pub Date:  Dec. 2007

Print Count:  1,104,319

St. Louis Mini/CompanionMO  (104516)

Pubco:  0962

Close:  8/30/07

Pub Date:  Dec. 2007

Print Count:  776,980

Col Size Chg:  5 to 4 col

Changing to a 4-column format adds tremendous value!!!

  • For advertisers ... more space
  • For consumers ... a more user-friendly directory, larger print.
  • For AT&T ... allows us to maintain a competitive directory in St. Louis.

Changing to a 4-column format requires that new artwork be submitted for ALL Display, Space and Trade items in both the St. Louis and the St. Louis Mini directory.

As a result of the column size change, below is a list of 5-column Display UDACs that are no longer valid for St. Louis along with the new 4-column equivalent UDAC.

5-Col UDAC       4-Col Equivalent UDAC

4QC                      DHC

5QC                     THC

DFQ                      HP

TFQ                      TQPV

TFV                      TQPV

FFQ                      FP

For example, if your client currently has a 5QC in St. Louis, the 4-col equivalent and recommended UDAC is a THC.

The complete list of display ad sizes that are available in a 4-column directory include:  QC, DQC, TQC, DHC, THC, HP, TQPV, FP, PP & DT.  CMRs will be queried to change the invalid display ad UDAC on their order to a valid display ad size.

Loyalty Placement

For advertisers who have display UDACs that no longer exist, if they convert to the recommended 4-column equivalency UDAC listed above, their ads will fall prior to all new sales of the 4-column equivalency UDACs, in the same loyalty order they had in the 2006 issue.

For example:  In the book on the street, if

  • Client 1 has a FP
  • Client 2 has a FFQ
  • The FFQ no longer exists, therefore, Client 2 opts for the recommended FP and places the order on July 1, 2007.
  • Client 3 purchases a new FP ad on May 1, 2007
  • Client 2's FP ad will fall after Client 1's FP and before Client 3's FP regardless of when the order was placed.
  • Order of appearance will be:  Client 1's FP, Client 2's FP, then Clients 3's FP.

For those advertisers who convert to the recommended 4-col equivalency UDAC, place an advice line on the order for the item that reads:   "Maintain Loyalty Date"

Loyalty Placement in Mini/Companion:

As a reminder, loyalty placement on any new display items placed in AT&T Mini directories is based on the date the Mini order is received.  Existing Mini display advertisers will maintain their loyalty placement date from when their order was originally submitted.  Act quickly to get your Mini directory order in now for the best placement.

Artwork:

Core Directory:  Artwork for ALL Display, Space and Trade items must be re-submitted with the 4-column spec ad sizes.

Mini Artwork: The same artwork that is used in the core directory must be used in the Mini directory.  Elite for Graphics Users should use the Copy Reuse function for the Mini directory.  CMRs can replicate the Art Ids on the St. Louis Mini directory when copying art from the St. Louis core directory.    Non-Elite for Graphics Users can replicate Art IDs on the St. Louis Mini directory when copying art from the St. Louis core directory.

Rates

The June 2007 issue of Rates & Data will be updated with the valid items offered for both the St. Louis & St. Louis Mini directory.

St. Louis Mini Bundle Reminder

As was communicated in an ELINC dated March 21, 2007, the rates for the St. Louis, OK Core and Mini directory are bundled onto the St. Louis Core directory code (041714).   Remember, the rates for items charged in the Core directory include duplicate advertising in the associated mini directory.  CMRs must replicate all orders from the Core directory and submit an order on the Mini directory code.  Failure to submit a duplicate Mini order will result in the absence of the ad from appearing in the Mini book.  Billing will not be adjusted on the Core or the Mini book in cases where the order is not submitted on the Mini book.

Trademark Upgrade Reminder (CTMWP)

The St. Louis column conversion is a great opportunity to make sure your clients have the best representation!  Remember, your TM clients can upgrade to the CTMWP (Custom Trademark with Knockout & Color) at the same rate as a black TM.  Since new artwork is required for the column size change, take advantage of this chance to upgrade your clients to the CTMWP.
