New East Grand Rapids, MI #105393 and Forest Hills #Close Date
Great Lakes Community Directories (GLCD 0580) would like to remind the CMR's that the first revenue editions of the East Grand Rapids, MI directory #105393 and Forest Hills, MI #105394 are closing in April and May respectively. These directories were both prototype directories last year closing in July with distribution on the nine month prototype beginning in December 2006. Advertising was free to all national advertisers. The revenue edition of East Grand Rapids book will close on April 27 with distribution beginning in August 2007, and the first revenue edition of the Forest Hills directory will close on May 11 with distribution beginning in September.
"Neighborhood directories are a natural migration for independent yellow pages as we continue to grow in the industry. Publishers are realizing that they don't need to compete with incumbent directories or Yellow Book on a one-to-one scale if they can provide value in a smaller scoped, inexpensively priced community directory" said Brad Nelson, CEO of Great Lakes Community Directories.
Any advertiser who took advantage of the free advertising in the prototype editions of these directories is eligible for a 25% year two conversion discount. The Yellow Pages Association has developed a series of online workshops for new employees who need to learn the fundamentals of order processing. Every class is 60 minutes in length and includes reinforcement exercises, real-time question and answer sessions and homework.
COURSES IN THE SERIES:
Yellow Pages 101 - 11:00-Noon on Mar. 5th
This course will provide an introduction to the Yellow Pages, various types of advertising and the Association's role.
Yellow Pages 102 - 2:00-3:00 pm on Mar. 5th
This course will provide key elements to consider in creating a Yellow Pages advertising program, tips for creating an ad and strengths of the Yellow Pages.
Basics of Rates & Data Terminology - 11:00-Noon on Mar. 6th
This course will provide the basics of Rates & Data, rate-hold, future-order start dates and directory version numbers.
Creating an Order 101 - 2:00-3:00 pm on Mar. 6th
This course will cover the basic elements of the national order form and rules for creating an order.
Creating an Order 102 - 11:00-Noon on Mar. 7th
This course will cover various order scenarios and trademarks.
Understanding Artwork - 2:00-3:00 pm on Mar. 7th
This course will cover the basics of artwork, timeframes, form preparation, SP INS codes and an introduction to the ELITE Graphic module.
Understanding Various Transactions - 11:00-Noon on Mar. 8th
This course will cover late order approval, change, renumber, delete, header and verification transactions.
Advices & Queries for the Beginner - 2:00-3:00 pm on Mar. 8th
This course will cover how to create and respond to advice and query transactions.
NOTE: This series is designed to be taken all at one time and cannot be compared to the Order Processing & Procedures course.

AT&T - Revision to Art Submission Guidelines for Copy Reuse (CR)
- Art IDs must be unique per art piece and can have no variations under that same Art ID, for both Elite and Non-Elite Graphics Art Submission
- A change in artwork will require a new Art ID.
- Due to ad size variances, CMRs must use different Art IDs based on AT&T Pubco Regions and column sizes.
- CMRs can use Copy Reuse on all AT&T Mini directories when copying art from the full size directory
- If the same ad is to appear at multiple headings, you must indicate on the artwork transmittal each heading. For Elite, use the instruction field.
- Per YPA guidelines, AT&T will not be responsible or make adjustments if a CMR fails to use unique Art IDs.
